Overview:
This role acts as a general HR support with specific responsibilities for Workers Compensation and Payroll & Benefits Administration.
Workers Compensation & Safety duties:
- Design, implement and manage Workers Comp & Safety reviews, Workers Compensation accident reports and ensure a proper follow up with corrective actions.
- Authorize medical bills for Workers Compensation payment.
- Conduct full investigation of all injuries reported (on-site investigations).
- Coordinates light duty with injured employee and general manager.
- Daily communication with Insurance Adjusters, Doctors, Defense Attorney.
- Maintains communication with injured worker to ensure a quick recovery.
- Training of Workers Compensation policies and procedures.
- Maintains well organized WC case files and has good filing system; conducts file reviews to ensure all proper documentation is collected and completed.
- Attend hearings and depositions.
- Coordinates monthly and quarterly claims reviews with Insurance carrier.
- Works closely with Insurance Broker to manage reserves and expedite claim resolution.
- Prepares monthly claim analysis.
- Submits daily and weekly safety report.
- Responsible for reporting injuries/accidents to Insurance Carrier.
- Complete first report of injury forms and maintain the OSHA log and update insurance carriers with the required reports.
Payroll & Benefits duties:
- Enter new hire information in our Benefits and Payroll Systems
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees
- Process status changes as and when they occur and initiate continuation of benefit processes.
- Coordinate and process open enrollment events and subsequent changes
- Respond to employee’s benefit questions, assists with resolution of problems regarding access to or payment of benefits; assists employees with paperwork related to filing disability claims, and
processes enrolment forms and change requests.
- Monitor eligibility period for new employees and schedule and coordinate benefit meetings.
- Ensure new employees complete all benefit paperwork accurately and timely
- Maintain employee benefit files and other record keeping requirements.
- Verify employment of employees as requested. Follow up on all unemployment cases.
- Perform daily payroll department operations
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
- Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
- Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks
- Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
- Process manual checks
- Reconciles payroll account balances (e.g. time sheets, direct deposits, wage attachments, benefits, voluntary and involuntary contributions, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining accurate account balances and complying with established guidelines.

Job Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years relevant HR experience preferably in Manufacturing industry.
- A minimum of 1 year processing payroll, experience of Paychex a plus
- A bachelor's degree and HRM certification is a plus.
- Broad exposure to legal compliance issues preferred.
- Excellent organizational, leadership and verbal/written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
- Ability and willingness to comply with, and support all company policies.
- Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel
- Must be very deadline oriented.
- Adaptable, flexible, patient and able to work with little outside direction.
- Ability to perform with a high degree of professionalism, integrity and business ethics.
- Driven by self-motivation and achieving results.
