Robert "Bart" C. Utley (1945-2006)

Madhava Natural Sweeteners was a labor of love for Bart Utley. Bart started out selling honey out of the back of his van in Boulder Canyon. He later purchased a five-acre farm in 1973 and founded the company with two beehives, an alfalfa field and a vision for natural foods. 

Madhava has grown considerably since its humble beginnings, but the company remains true to its roots. Bart continued to work with Madhava until his death in 2006. Although he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in all that we do.
